on Friday June 20th, 2003! The
venue is The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, next to Vauxhall station in London. The
date is the traditional party night
of Midsummer Eve, when every Finn will be heading to party the night away!
You will experience Finnish popular culture in a way not seen before on the
London club scene! We shall play
dancey pop from Finland and beyond, tongue-in-cheek ;-)
We think it is time Finland is no longer seen just as the home of the sauna
and Sibelius, but an exciting and
different country, which has brought us Nokia and Marimekko for example.
This is our first newsletter about the Löyly-party and we are asking for
your help in spreading the word to all
Midsummer party people. We are also looking for sponsors for the party, so
if you know any companies and
contacts, please let us know!
Also we are planning to create an authentic Finnish Midsummer atmosphere.
For this we need birch trees or
branches - please tell us where to find them near London!
