Matthew Glamorre
M I N T Y
A week after they had recorded the demo, a very enthusiastic club promoter called Matthew Glamorre asked them to perform at his club Smashing, but he wanted a live band.
Years previously Matthew had gone around the clubs in full freaky make-up with a teapot on his head and had often been mistaken for Leigh.  Leigh was dead against having a live band.  He had no rock history - he hadnīt listened to rock music as teenager and since he had been in London he had only listened to various forms of dance music.
But Richard Torry persuaded him and in a week they put together a band.
Danielle was on bass, a Japanese boy called Honalulu on sampler, Trevor Sharpe from Miranda Sex Garden was on drums and Matthew Glammore himself on keyboards.  They had about three rehearsals and then were ready to play at Smashing.
