THE ROSWELL INCIDENT

Roswell - what goes through your mind when you hear that word? Do you think of a city in New Mexico? Do you think of a supposed UFO crash? Do you even know what Roswell is? In this editorial, I will explain what the Roswell incident was and why it is still a mysterious event without many answers to be found.
Roswell is a place in New Mexico. It is most famous for its UFO encounter. The encounter that I am referring to is known as the "Roswell incident." There are two main sides to the Roswell incident. The first are the believers who believe that aliens got killed in a crash to the death near Roswell in 1947. The second are the people who insist that it was a top secret government project that fell from the sky. Many witness accounts have been made known since this alleged crash in 1947. Not all of them saw what happened that night, but some did see the remains of it. One of those people was W. W. "Mac" Brazel. Brazel saw debris from the strange object scattered all over his field. They were odd looking metallic pieces that he could not cut with his knife or burn with his matches. Another witness was Hub Corn who owned a ranch about 30 miles north of Roswell. Hub gave tours of his ranch to visitors, and in his tours, he included a field with miniature American flags spread out in different locations of the field. A couple flags indicated where the tilted ship was, and another set of flags indicated where an alien sat holding a black box. Corn said that five bodies were eventually recovered, along with a wedge shaped ship.
Some other people that are rarely mentioned are Kristen Corn, Hub Corn's daughter. She said that a "desert rat" named Cactus Jack (no, not the wrestler) once told her that he was "out there when the space ship came down" and saw dead aliens with blood "like tar." His existence has not yet been determined. Marcel's son Jesse Jr. remembered being awakened by his father and shown tinfoil, plastic "beams or struts" that seemed metallic, and some strange symbols that looked like hieroglyphics. He was only 10, but he recalls his father being excited about the discovery. Another witness named Gerald Anderson, after being hypnotised, remembered the shape of the large metallic disc. He also remembered seeing three alien beings barely breathing, like a person would if they had a broken rib. He saw a fourth one giving them what looked like CPR.
Some well-known events are the conversation between Walter G. Haut and William H. Blanchard, Glenn Dennis visiting Area 51, and the alleged cover-up of this whole mystery. Haut was 25 years old at the time of the Roswell incident. Marcel gave some "UFO" debris to Roswell Base Commander Col. William H. Blanchard. He summoned the First Lt. Walter G. Haut. In a 1997 interview, Haut vividly remembered Blanchard's orders: "Haut, put out a press release. Basically say that we have in our possession a flying saucer."
Glenn Dennis was a 21 year old mortician at the Ballard Funeral Home. In 1997 there was an interview with Glenn Dennis. He remembered two unusual phone-calls on July seventh of 1947 (two days after the Roswell incident). "The calls were from a guy who said he was a mortuary officer," recalled Dennis. "He said he needed to know how many two-food-six-inch hermetically sealed baby caskets there were in stock. Then he called back to ask what embalming fluids would do to a body." On July ninth of 1947, the Roswell paper ran a story saying that Brig. Gen. M. Ramey-commander of the eighth Air Force headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas said that the flying disc was a weather balloon. Later on, the Pentagon admitted that General Ramey wasn't totally correct. The Pentagon now says that it was a 700 foot string of weather balloons, radar reflectors, and acoustic sensors that were launched from Alamagordo Air Field, New Mexico, on June fourth of 1947. The top secret experiment was called project Mogul. So what did happen? Were the witnesses correct, or was the government correct? That is for you to decide.
There are many movies made about the Roswell incident. One was "Alien Autopsy." When the government saw that it was made because of the Roswell incident, they were quick to their feet to try to deny any and all of the things stated in the movie. The government said that there were no alien autopsies or alien recoveries.
Now that the most important people and some of the most important events have been stated, I will now explain the actual Roswell incident. It all started on July fifth, 1947. It was a stormy night. Lightning struck an object in the sky and it plummeted down to earth. The next morning, July sixth, 1947, W. W. "Mac" Brazel saw the debris and so did his family. They called the local authorities who came and took every last speck of the strange metallic material and, as some people say they have seen, they dragged about five alien bodies out and one held a black box in hand. The authorities told the Brazel family to forget everything that they had seen. The alien ship and aliens were taken to Area 51, a secret base in Groom Valley, Nevada. Glenn Dennis, a funeral mortician, was called to bring a couple of four foot caskets to Area 51. He brought them in and while he was leaving, he was confronted by an officer in Area 51. Glenn told him what he was doing there and the officer, in a mean way, told Dennis to leave immediately. Just before he left, a doctor's aid popped out of a room and was screaming. A couple days later, he met with her in a cafeteria. She explained that on that day they had alien bodies lying on beds. They were small creatured with big black eyes and about three to four fingers on each hand. They talked on for a couple hours about the incident.
Now you know the whole story behind the Roswell incident. Whether you believe it or not is another issue. Did an actual alien ship crash in Roswell, New Mexico, or was it a government project? That is for you to decide. One thing is for certain, the Roswell incident has become a center stage for believers and non-believers alike.
