Mako Shark
The mako shark is a saltwater shark averaging about 5-10 feet in length. There are two species of mako shark, the more common `shortfin mako' (isurus oxyrinchus), and the rare `longfin mako' (isurus paucus).

The warm-blooded mako is a member of the family of mackerel sharks (which includes the great white). Considered by some to be the fastest of all fish, estimates of the mako's top speed are as high as 60mph. Makos are aggressive, are able to leap out of the water, will eat almost anything and have been known to attack humans and even boats. The mako shark is generally considered dangerous and is coveted as a gamefish.
