My Dear Brother Duncan:
Compliments of the day!
I am so happy you have forgiven me, let us never mention the past matter again and look only ahead to good times and great fortunes.
I have attended to the matter of the watches and I think you will be pleased with the selections I have made. You can go here to preview them, in the search box enter "Piaget Polo" without the quotes.
I also think you will be very happy that I have ignored your advice about getting a gift for you and your child, and have instead purchased the "Rolex President" platinum model 118206, 1 for each of you so in the future you can always look at them and remember your wonderful friend Matt from the United States. I did not want your wife to feel left out, so I purchased the Ladies version for her as well, model 69158. You should be able top preview both at the site above.
Thank god my wife has always insisted we keep the balance on our credit cards low, I was able to use them to pay for the watches without touching the funds in our bank account--that would have reduced them quite a lot. It's ok though, the first thing I will do after we collect our money is send the credit card companies a check to pay them all off.
About this phone situation, I say forget it. The time I am due there is fast approaching and the phone company here is the definition of useless, they are saying a week or more to fix the problem. Instead, just tell me where in Holland to fly to, have your son meet me there and then we will go see Mr. Martins in person. If he gives us any problems we will remind him that we are wealthy men with little time and even less patience, and that he better remember he works for us if he wants to keep his job.
I hope you are feeling well and look forward to your urgent reply.
Matt

Dear Dr. Ogaga,
Very bad news, my friend. Today when the watches were delivered my wife opened the package and discovered them. I had not told her yet of our plans, because my plan was to surprise her by sending a limo with a first class plane ticket to the Bahamas to pick her up to join me this weekend after the trip to Holland. Now that she knows everything she is very upset and thinks I am stupid.
She told me this is a scam to steal all of our money, and that the only reason Steve Martins won't email or call my office himself is because he is a fake that doesn't exist. She said that I am an idiot and that I have one week to hear from him before she will return the watches and take the credit cards from me so that I can't use them unless she knows about it.
Also, I found out the reason I cannot call international from home is because our sons were playing with the phones last month and incurred several hundreds of dollars in bills, so my wife had the phone company put a block on our number.
I don't know how to proceed now, everything is falling apart. I hope you have some solution.
Matt
How do you deal with someone like this? I don't know about you, but I'm tired of everything being urgent and still nothing getting done. Let's see if getting the wife involved helps any...
