Reels Maintenance - Do It Yourself
In this page, I shall cover some of the reels we commonly used in today's Saltwater Fishing.
Below are some reels which I've personally used and maintained.

OverHeads or Baitcast
1. Shimano Tiagra 50A

Spinning or Egg Beaters

TIBURON SST 16
2. Remove the 4 counter-sunk screws on the LEFT side plate
1. Before Dismantle
4. Remove the pinion Gear, drag cover retainer and drag plate
3. Remove the 2 screws and inspect the clicker gear and spool bearings
5. Remove the old grerase from the pinion gear
6. This is the right side plate and housing assembly
7. Drag retainer and drag plate before dismantle 8. Drag cover, drag retainer, drag plate and spring after dismantle
10. This is the clicker gear on the left spool
9. This is the carbon fibre drag of the SST (Can be used WET or DRY)
11. Check both spool bearings for smoothness and drive shaft for any damaged 12. Remove the 4 set screws from the right side plate to remove the spool housing
13.Right plate, drive gear assembly
14.Remove the handle locking screw and the handle mounting screw
15.These are the components after handle removal
16.Remove the whole drive gear unit and replace the old grease with new grease. Check all gear teeth for any damages
18.The remaining of the right side plate. Check the remaining 2 bearings on the handle area.
17.Remove the remaining 3 screws from the right side plate to remove the drag lever and drag cam
19. These are the 7 pcs of washers after removal of handle. Note : Please stack them back the correct way
20. This is the whole drive gear system.
