The Episodes Continue
Zorro again appears to save the day.  He rides onto the mission grounds and challenges Monastario.  While they engage in a fight with bullwhips, Torres is able to get back into the sanctuary of the church, and Bernardo and the priest are able to help the Indians escape into the hills.

Monastario becomes increasingly desperate to force Torres out of sanctuary.  He threatens the life of a captured Indian by telling him he must stand silently while Monastario tells Padre Felipe that he has learned of an Indian uprising.  The fabrication allows Monastario to move his men into the church.  His plan is to cut off all food and water to Torres and force him out that way.
Diego tells Sergeant Garcia about the "Ghost of the Mission"
Diego de la Vega returns to the mission with a scroll written in Latin.  He tells Sergeant Garcia that it is a story about a mad monk with no face who haunts the mission grounds.  The frightened and superstitious Garcia retells the story to all the lancers.  That night, when Zorro disguised as the 'mad monk' appears, the soldiers are incapable of fighting back since their fear is so great.
Monastario knows it is a trick and tries to rally his troops, but in the ensuing melee, both Zorro and Nacho Torres are able to flee the church.

Another defeat
Bernardo lends Zorro a hand
Diego keeps Garcia's mind on anything but Nacho Torres
Monastario believes that Torres will head back to his hacienda.  He and his soldiers arrive there themselves.  To his chagrin, he discovers that Diego de la Vega is there.  It is beginning to dawn on the Capitan that Diego always seems to be underfoot.
Capitan Monastario confronts the Torres women and demands that they turn over Don Nacho.  Senora Torres insists that her husband is not on the premises.  Earlier she tells Diego the same thing when he inquires about Nacho's location.  Neither man is persuaded she is telling them the truth.
Monastario sends Garcia to the cellar to search, and Diego quickly invites himself along.  Diego sees Nacho hiding among the wine casks and does everything he can to distract the sergeant from noticing him.  When Don Nacho is observed by the sergeant, Garcia's innate clumsiness allows the don to escape to other regions of the house.
