More On The Episodes
El Capitan will have a dinner at the inn to which the areas' prominent citizens will be invited.  While they are dining, Martinez, dressed in a replica Zorro costume Monastario has had made, will rob the guests.  Monastario believes this action will discredit Zorro in the people's eyes.  Once that is done, the Commandante thinks the people of Los Angeles will help him capture the outlaw rather than help and protect Zorro.  Captitan Monastario issures his invitations, and the plan is put into play.
Diego suspects that Capitan Monastario is up to something but he must be patient.
All seems to go well at first.  During dinner, Martinez, dressed as Zorro, appears in the inn and proceeds to rob the guests.  No one notices when Diego de la Vega slips out the back door.  As the fake Zorro begins to leave, Monastario grabs his sword and chases him up the stairs.
Martinez tries to leave the building unaware that Bernardo, below in the courtyard, has moved the ladder he needs for his escape.  Martinez and Monastario are also unaware that the real Zorro has entered the building.  When Zorro comes through a doorway, Monastario thinks it is Martinez.  As the dueling progresses, however, Monastario quickly realizes that it is, indeed, the real Zorro he is fighting!  Monastario falls through the balcony railing and crashes into a table below.
Monastario fights the real Zorro thinking that the man clad in black is Martinez.
Learning the truth, Monastario finds he is once more outwitted by the true Zorro.
Unable to leave the building as planned, Martinez comes back into the inn only to confront the real Zorro.  The two fight furiously.  Finally, the real Zorro causes Martinez to fall down the stairs.  The imposter Zorro is unmasked, the money and valuables are returned to their rightful owner, and Monastario covers his tracks by pretending that Martinez had escaped jail.  Another plan gone awry!  But Monastario is not ready to give it up yet.
