The Southern Middle School Library Media Center is open to students for individual checkout each morning before classes during Advisory (8:05). Classes are scheduled regularly for book circulation. The media center maintains
a flexible schedule so that classes and teams can make the most of the materials the media center has to offer. Students are scheduled into the media center for regularly scheduled circulation once every two weeks. Sites for January and February: Use these for special research projects in January and February.
A place for students, teachers, and parents to use special research tools such as Infotrac a magazine database, The New Book of Knowledge Encyclopedia, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia and WebQuests-exciting experiences online. This tool is available automatically from school computers but requires a password for home access. This access is free to all North Carolina students and their families. Students can obtain passwords from the school library media specialist for home use.
