We are a widely recognized and highly respected distributor of HVAC/R equipment & replacement parts, electric motors, PT components, industrial supplies, tools and test instruments. We seek a motivated and creative individual embracing a "let's do it right the first time" attitude.
The goal of Johnstone Supply's customer service representatives is to support the sales of new HVAC, refrigeration and other mechanical equipment through exceptional service to contractors and institutional end-users in the parts after market.
Customer service / Inside OTC sales
Responsible for after-market parts identification, pricing and invoicing in a high volume over-the-counter and telephone sales environment. One year college / technical school certificate in HVAC, and/or 3 years field service, parts counter or closely related experience preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills, including the patience and ability to teach others what you know.
- Knowledge of the wholesale HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, industrial supply industry, or possess several years of field service experience. Retail automotive parts sales or other construction trade experience considered.
- Familiarity with Windows, WORD, EXCEL. Must be able to type and navigate a PC keyboard (type).
Duties include:
- Heavy customer contact via telephone and in person.
- Identification and quotation of replacement parts for all brands of HVAC, electric motors, refrigeration and household appliances using a multitude of cross reference media (CD/ROM, spreadsheets, vendor catalogs, etc.).
- Warranty and MSDS support for replacement parts and several brands of equipment.
- Creation of invoices and credit memos.
- Tracking and expediting customer orders.
- Share responsibility of maintenance for showroom displays.
- Submitting purchase orders for special orders.
Personal skills required:
- Commitment to a high level of customer service.
- Enjoy helping people.
- Ability to eventually memorize hundreds of (if not a few thousand) stock numbers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in what can often be a seemingly stressful environment.
- Attention to accuracy and detail.
- Computer literacy.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Knowledge of basic electrical circuits. Knowledge of Honeywell controls and/or electric motors, a plus.
- Willingness to do the homework to learn what you don't already know.
