On the 29th March 1998, Deirdre Rachid was found guilty of fraud/stupidity and was sentenced to 18 months in jail with Margi Clarke's scouse accent to keep her company.  Although there was an outcry about the decision, even coming from parliament, there are many people who think that the decision was not only justifiable, but also too long awaited. For too long a time, viewers of Granada Television's four-times-weekly fly-on-the-wall documentary series "Coronation Street" have been polluted with her constant moaning, tearfulness, bad acting, and crap glasses. It is about time that all this has come to an end, but we feel that the courts did not go far enough with her sentencing, but that she deserved a hell of a lot more.  That is why we are campaigning not for the release of Deirdre "I'm innocent *sob*" Rachid, but for the hanging of the witch once and for all!
