Psychotherapy Training

The NWIDP administered the courses leading to the North West Diploma in Dynamic Psychotherapy. This is an advanced qualification in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and allows graduates to register as Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with the United Kingdom Council for the Psychotherapies (UKCP), the largest registration body for psychotherapists in the United Kingdom.

The Diploma course has been put on hold for the foreseeable future, please click here for more information.  Although the Institute will continue to administer the course for the current trainees until they have completed their training.

Library

The Robert F Hobson Library has an extensive collection of books on psychotherapy and related subjects, with a core of psychoanalytic texts. It is based at the Gaskell House Psychotherapy Centre and was set up by the Society for the Investigation of Human Values (SIHV), a charity whose aim it was to support the development of psychotherapy; the library is now administered by the NWIDP.
