The Angelus Warriors
FIRST APPEARANCE: The Darkness #1
The Angelus Warriors are unearthly agents of tyrannical law and order who manifest as angelic-like beings of energy, wielding swords and attitude.
They were sent by The Angelus Queen to kill the mobster, Jackie Estacado, on the eve of his 21st birthday to stop him from inheriting The Darkness power, as this power would enable him to destry the Queen.
The Angelus proved no match for Jackie and his new-found power, much to the Angelus Queen's dismay. Several other attemps by the Angelus on Jackie's life have failed, but it can be certain that they, and their Queen, will not take these defeats easily.
