Biography

Born in the city of Resplendor, Minas Gerais, in the year of 1954, Maria Luiza Fazolo is both Italian and Brazilian. Her biography, as she likes to state, can be read entirely in the life of each and every Brazilian citizen, in the desperate struggle for survival. She studied teaching, schooled in Religious Science and took the first year in History major. She’s been teacher and a business manager, lived in EUA and Italy, where she received the Italian citizenship.

Living with imigrants from all parts of the world and in contact with the work underworld in America, she updated her vision of mankind and life. Always self-taught, she studied Carlos Drummond de Andrade in 2005 and decided to follow his steps: started writing at a mature age.

Writer of short stories, scripts and poetry – her work is new and is now going to be published.

The release of “Memories of America”, her first book, offers her own hindsight into the drama or more than 27 thousand Brazilian citizens who immigrate clandestinely to the USA searching for better life opportunities. Arrested in numerous American jails, they expect Deportation. As a woman and writer, she puts herself as a spokesperson for them at Itamaraty and the UN.
