Maria Fernandes Novaes is poetess, columnist, writer and journalist. She has her own style, which is not arrested in "schools", although it is a positivist romantic. She writes since 14 years old, so, her book "Fragments" is a collection of poems from that phase.
Descending from "Portuguese" on the maternal side, she was born in Urutaí, a prosaic city in the interior of Goiás, but she left her hometown when she was 2 years old and she has passed part of her childhood in Pires do Rio – GO. She has moved to Brasilia, when she was a teenager yet, where she has studied (choosing journalism), she has worked as a reporter in "Jornal de Brasilia" and "Correio Brasiliense". She has been editor for "Revista Novidades" in Brasilia and for "Jornal Satellite". Nowadays she is a Director/Editor of the fiftieth "Jornal do Cerrado", a considered vehicle of communication driven to country producers in the Center-West area in Brazil.
She has two poetries books published; she has several chronicles published in newspapers and magazines; The Romance "Jaliza – A Sacerdotista de Amon de Rá" is already in the press and now she is finishing a Romance / Record about the Amazon Mines.
