Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eliane Stoducto studied at the Colégio Pedro II (High School), worked for two years as Architecture and Urbanism Design student in the Instituto de Belas Artes (Fine Arts Institute). In 1977, she got a degree in History at the Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais (Philosophy and Social Sciences Institute) of the Rio de Janeiro Federal University.
Afterwards, she taught Geography and History and took part in several researches at the Brazilian National Archives, under the supervision of Professor Mircea Buescu (1977-78), and at the National Library of Rio de Janeiro (1979). She also worked as assistant researcher in the Health Care and Social Control - 1900-1940 project, sponsored by the Ford Foundation, under the supervision of Professor Nilson do Rosário Costa (1980), but soon had left the academic life.
In the eighties she started writing lyrics, taking part in some Brazilian popular song festivals. Three of her lyrics were nominated for the Juiz de Fora Festival Award (1981), in which she was awarded best lyrics with a song, called Phoenix. In that same year she was nominated for the Ouro Preto Festival Award, and in 1986 for the Muriaé Festival Award. In 1980 she also directed an Aécio Flávio and Jane Duboc's show at the Teatro do Parque, in Recife City, and at the Palácio das Artes, in Belo Horizonte City.
As lyrics writer, she had five of her songs recorded by Polygram, 1980; Aycha, 1981; Pointer, 1982; RCA, 1982, Pointer, 1983; and Polygram, 1983. From 1979 on she collaborated with the writer and screenwriter Armando Costa, a partner and best friend, in some TV series. With Armando Costa she adapted the theater play O analista de Bagé (The Bagé's Shrink) performed in 1982, and wrote Filhos da pátria! (Sons of a motherland!), still unpublished.
In 1982 the Nova Magazine awarded her for her biographical account Pernas pra que te quero (Having a leg up on).
Later on, with the arrival of her two sons, she left the literary-bohemian life, hibernating for 14 years on behalf of the boys, a period in which she wrote many tales, chronicles and poems. In the last two years she has published in several poetry sites and forums. In 1999, she created her own home pages - Cristal Poesia e Prosa (Crystal Poetry and Prose) and Poema em Movimento (Moving Poem) - in which she presents hers and other authors works. She also founded the Katarse Literary List and, in December of that same year, with Cláudia Letti, the site Letra de Corpo - Arte and Literatura (Body Letter - Art and Literature), exclusively oriented to the work of others writers and poets.
As Artemis Forum and Women's Forum member, she participates in the collective site Crônica do Dia (Today's Chronicle).
