Biography

I was born in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais and moved to the capital Belo Horizonte with my family when I was still very young. My first job was at Mesbla, a department store. I was a salesclerk at the records and musical instruments department - thus my passion for music was born. But it wasn't a career in music that I pursued for professional fulfillment. Two years later I was hired by an advertising agency to be a TV commercial - announcer. At that time, I worked in all the existing TV stations in Belo Horizonte. Years later, I moved to Rio de Janeiro, where I worked in radio broadcasting, theater and dubbing. In 1989 I moved to New York, and came back to Brazil in 1997, when I worked as a radio announcer at "Radio FM Itatiaia" in Belo Horizonte. Then, in March, 1998 I was invited to work with dubbing in Miami. I enjoy writing very much. I have enjoyed it since I was a child. In the beginning I used to write tales, and then I started to write poems and dialogues. I eventually published a book in December, 1997: "As Vidas que Vivi" (The Lives I Lived). Having the book published was a dream come true, as well as a great challenge. One of my poems, "Prayer to God", was included in the book "The International Library of Poetry - Whispers of the Wind", published here in the United States. Also, I got the third place in a Poetry Contest in New York. I have a book of poems and a book for children, which I intend to send to some publishers for appraisal before the end of 2001. I am not a professional writer because I decided that using my voice was more important to me. But I love writing. If I weren't an announcer and dubber, I would certainly choose to be a writer.
