PENELOPE CAROLINE ROUSE - CALVIN JOHNSON

Searching for info on PENELOPE CAROLINE ROUSE, wife of CALVIN JOHNSON. They were listed on the 1850 Census of Leon County (Tallahassee), Fla. There were several other Johnson families in the area at the time and all appear to have come from North Carolina. Listed with Calvin and Caroline were two children about 5 yrs of age and an older boy, WARREN DUVAL, about 10. I have reason to believe that Warren was the son of Penelope and ALEXANDER FORMY-DUVAL, also of NC. It was a practice of some Formy-Duval descendants to drop the "Formy" portion of their last name. Caroline is not listed on the 1860 census in which Calvin is shown without a wife and I cannot find the younger children. If I am correct, Caroline is my ancestor and she may be the daughter (natural or adopted) of CANADA (Canady) ROUSE and his wife, also a Johnson, from North Carolina. Warren Duval was subsequently adopted by Canada and the boy's surname changed to Rouse.
