I live in southeastern Kentucky, there isn't much here except the beauty of nature and peace and quiet, but these things are priceless in my humble opinion. I got into computers about 12 years ago after a personal tragedy (see About Joy), and it is my number 1 hobby. Living with me are my hubby, 2 daughters (Joy & Wendy), 2 dogs and 1 cat My son now 27, lives in Richmond, KY and attends Eastern Kentucky University For over 5 years I was the system operator (sysop) of a public Bulletin Board System (BBS) locally called >>> THE BORDERLINE BBS <<< . It was run on PCBoard software and was a DOS/ANSI system wtih 50 games online, over 50,000 files for download, netmail, and chat. It was a lot of fun and helped people in 5 counties of eastern Kentucky learn about computers, modems, communications, etc.. Then the internet came to eastern Kentucky and as in the case of most of the larger BBS including Salt Air, home of PCBoard software, The Borderline BBS died. Not one to give up on communicating with the outside world or online gaming, I soon discovered a new place on the internet which was in it's infancy. It boasted four games when I first found it, Bridge, Checkers, Chess and Hearts. It was called the Internet Gaming Zone, we call it 'the zone'. The year was 1994 Also not wanting to lose touch with all my online friends I soon learned html and made my own homepage, and it grew larger as I learned more. In late 1997 my hubby bought me Scrabble CD, he had to drive 2 hrs. each way to the nearest mall to get it, wasn't that sweet? Having always loved to read and playing word games, I was instantly hooked. See Joyce's Scrabble Mania Meet my hubby of 22 years.
