I first became interested in music when I used to watch my High School Marching Band form at the Elementary School up the street from my house. They used to march down to perform at the football games and I really liked the drum section. That's when I decided I wanted to learn to play drums so I asked my parents for a set of drums for Christmas. Later on a friend of mine asked me to come see the band he was playing guitar for practice. I tried to help the drummer with a song he was having trouble with (Knock On Wood) but he just couldn't get it right. I told the guys I had to go and about half an hour later they showed up at my house and asked if I was interested in joining the band. I said "Yes" and that was the start of my career in music! My musical career has been mostly part-time, weekend groups but I made my living playing full-time during two different periods of my life. I have played all over the U.S. I've played in Atlantic City in some of the casinos and various clubs. I also played on cruise ships (Royal Carribbean) and at numerous resorts.
Along with my musical accomplishments, I recently went back to school at Computer Learning Center so that I could advance in the Information Technology field. After attending school four hours a night, three nights a week, while still working full-time eight to twelve hours a day, plus working at a part-time job at the golf course in the summer, I graduated on August 25, 1999!!! Quite an accomplishment! After working at Emery Oil Company as a Computer Technician and at The Vanguard Group as a Communication Associate, I now work at Dollar Financial Group as a Technical Support Analyst.
Some of the most important events in my life have been my marriage to Shirley on October 13, 1990 and the births of my children and grandchildren: daughter Jennifer, daughter Briana, son Donald, stepdaughter Chris, grandaughter Jennifer, grandson Derrick and grandaughter Julia.
I would like to thank my Dad, George, and my sister and brother in law, Ann and Darrell, and their family, for putting up with us (Sudden Impact) when we go up there to play. Thank you all! We really appreciate your hospitality.
