Well...when Mike was asked about information for his biography, his personality definitely shone through!!! He's got a terrific sense of humor and hopefully this will capture some of that!
As of January 1, 1999, he became Sudden Impact's new lead guitar player. Everyone is very happy with the new addition to the band and the crowds respond VERY well to his energy and enthusiasm. He definitely brings a new sound and a very upbeat personality to the band and we want to let him know what a great job he's doing! *s*
Here is what Mike has shared so far...
I am originally from Watertown NY, a nice little city north of Syracuse and a stone's throw from Canada. I came to Pennsylvania in March of '98 looking for an opportunity to use some of the skills I developed in the north country and to learn some new ones as well. I have been a musician for over 15 years, I majored in Classical Guitar at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse and also spent many years performing on guitar and bass in the local clubs. I attended The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio, and have been working as a recording and live sound engineer since 1991. Some of my recording credits include work for Random House (Dr. Seuss on tape!) and Harper-Caedmon publishers. In the area of live sound I have worked for The Miss New York State Pageant, Porter Wagonner, Stonewall Jackson, a number of multi-act festivals and just about every band in the Watertown area! I recently took a position at a local mutual fund company. How I ended up in mutual funds, I have no idea! I'm a guitar player, what do I know about money? But it's a lot of fun, and the free food they keep throwing my way is a big plus.
When Mike was asked about his family, he responded "I have cool parents! (It's not a yard sale Dad, it's trashday...put it back!!!) He has two younger sisters named Erika 3 and Angela 4!!! When he grows up he wants to be just like his grandpa *s*
He was also asked how he origionally became interested in music. He replied, as so many musicians do "I never really became "interested"...it was more like "possessed"!"
When asked about major events and accomplishments in his life he said his birth was a pretty major event. He doesn't remember much of it though, he was pretty young. He also says he's often accused of being a "nice guy" *s*
Mike wants to let Sara and Jim know that he misses them very much.
He also wonders if the band is going to play "Stonehenge"???
