The Bat's Cave
The Dark Knight - feared by criminals, not completely trusted by the
authorities, obsessively dedicated to his vow to uphold justice,
physically human, but in spirit possessing superhuman strength - truly a
monumental hero throughout the ages.....This page is dedicated to this
defender known as - BATMAN
The Bat's Cave is no longer being updated. Changes to the page have not been made for a long long time and I will no longer be its caretaker. I have decided to come "home" one last time and remove dead links, and make a few other small cosmetic changes. The site will not be deleted or destroyed but will remain as a legacy for new viewers (if any) to discover. I thank anyone who ever visited the site and shared in my appreciation of this iconic hero. I love that his history will continue to grow through the new films. Take care Gothamites and remember The Bat is always watching over you...
Bat-quote of the
week:
"I want you to tell all your friends about me....What are you?..I'm Batman!!!"
The Movies:
Batman has become integrated in many different aspects of society, but
it is in the movies that there exists a unique excitement about the Batman legend. There
are currently 6 live action major motion pictures to date, this includeds the 1966 Adam
West version that is often overlooked. How long will Batman soar on the big screen? Only time
will tell...........
Each movie page has information about the movie, pictures and a link
to the movies official information at the Internet Movie Database. Sounds
from each movie can be found in the sounds section of this page.

Games:
Batman & Robin - for the Sony Playstation
This critically acclaimed game finally has been released for the
Playstaion. In it you can become Batman, Robin or Batgirl in order to
attempt to stop Mr. Freeze from freezing Gotham city. A magnificent 3D
version of Gotham City exists for you to explore in REAL TIME, including
the Batcave, Wayne Manor, crime scenes and villains hideouts. Using your
detective skills, a player must find clues at crime scenes to determine
the next place criminals will strike and be at the location to prevent the
crimes from occurring. Truly a superb blend of action and roll-playing. An

The Bat-poll of the moment:
I decided to add this new section to the page so that I could get people's
view on Bat-topics. I will post a poll from time to time and allow you to
answer. When I post a new poll I will give the results of the previous
poll.
Final Results of the third Bat-poll:
Which one of the Batman villains was portrayed best by the
actors in the films??
- Jack Nicholson as The Joker - 21.9%
- Jim Carrey as The Riddler - 21.9%
- Danny Devito as The Penguin - 18.8%
- Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman - 15.6%
- Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face - 12.5%
- Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy - 6.6%
- Frank Gorshin as The Riddler(1966 movie) - 3.1%
Past poll results
can be found here
Scripts:
An interesting thing about scripts is that you can see what might have
been in a movie, but was never done. Sometimes by reading the script you
get a deeper understanding of what a movie was supposed to portray but
didn't quite get across. In the Batman Forever script, the Riddler has
great theatrical speeches where he does dialogue in multiple
characters' voices. This was never portrayed in the movie. Also, the
battle of wits between Bruce and Edward during the ball scene is wonderfully
done. In Batman & Robin, the scenes between Bruce and Dick about Alfred
dying are much more emotional and heart-felt. This does not comes across
in the movie because Bruce's lines are cut. Take a look at the scripts and
get your own impressions of them.

If
the other Batman scripts become available to this site they will be
added.

The Comics:

The four comic books listed above
are the backbone of the Batman universe. In addition there are other comics that involve
Batman: The Batman Chronicles and The Batman and Robin Adventures. Batman
also appears in comics of other Batman characters: Azrael, Catwoman,
Nightwing and Robin. Since Batman is part of the Justice League of America
(JLA) he also appears in the JLA comic book. Finally, there are Elseworlds
comics which give alternate views of Batman, sort of what-if? stories.
Bios for the heroes and villains can be found at the Dark
Knight Batman page. The descriptions of all important people in
Batman's universe are included.
