BUFFALO, NY HIGHLIGHTS

DOWNTOWN-

CITY HALL-

PICTURES FROM LAFAYETTE SQUARE-

FROM THE AIR-

Flying right over downtown!  I didn't know the new Marine Midland Arena has its logo on the roof also!

A view of the airport, and also the Village of Williamsville, along Main St. (Route 5)

South Buffalo and Lackawanna.  Note the Erie County Botanical Gardens, and the Basillica.

Mount Calvary Cemetery, along the Kensington Expressway (Route 33) on the Cheektowaga/Buffalo line.

Williamsville and Amherst, at the junction of Interstates 90 & 290.  Notice Amherst's "Big Blue Water Tower"!

Looking across Lake Erie at Grand Island.

A GREAT picture of Buffalo & the Niagara Frontier, taken by my friend George Greene on a flight from Cleveland to Boston.  It's winter-time, so note how Lake Erie is frozen over!  You can even barely see Lake Ontarion in the distance.

Wanakah and Hamburg, along Lake Erie.

WINTERTIME

ABOVE:  A bright winter morning (actually March 22, which is still winter here, hi) after a few days of snow and ice.

My apartment balcony, wintertime.

Below:  Snow gets a little too heavy for its own good on top of a bird feeder

Cleaning out after the "Storm of the Century" in 1993.  That blizzard didn't affect us as much as other areas, with only 17" accumulation, which is still a lot, but not any incredible amount like some areas (43" in Syracuse, etc.)

Pictures after December 10, 1995, the snowiest day in Buffalo history (38" fell in 24 hours)

BUFFALO SABRES PICTURES-

The clock runs out at the last Sabres game ever in Memorial Auditorium (before the move to the new Marine Midland Arena for the 1996-97 season.) They went out with a bang, an impressive 4-1 victory over the Hartford Whalers (now Carolina Hurricanes), on April 14, 1996.

The ceremony of lowering the Hall of Fame banners, after the game pictured above.

Patrick Roy (and his Colorado Avalanche) face the Sabres in December 1995.  We won!
