This story takes place 2-3 weeks after the episode Becoming 2 of the second season.

The magic depicted in this story is 98% out of my own head, and will almost certainly work only in the Buffyverse of my fictions. While I'll be glad to consider any suggestions that will make it 'sound' better, I'm not trying to accurately reflect any modern (or historical) thinking on the subject.
