My wife Sally & I along with
the
rest of the family which include: Marc, Louie & Lucy, and now Hannah, live in Northeast Ohio. Northeast Ohio is a great place to live.
You
have all four seasons to enjoy. Spring, summer and
autumn can't be beat with usually good weather and
lots to do, from watching the Indians to hanging
out
at the Flats along the river and lake. Winter
brings
ice skating, skiing and watching the Cavs. The Rock & Roll
Hall
of Fame is open during all four seasons and is
constantly changing with new exhibits. The
Great Lakes Science Center, located next to
the
Rock Hall along the lakefront, is a lot of fun and is
very interesting.
Free Games at ROBLOX. Check out what I have been building lately!

I have been an Indians fan for a long
time
and have suffered through many losing seasons.
From
Duane Kuiper to Oscar Gamble, I remember them all.
All those years I saw people wearing Yankee hats
and
Dodgers jackets and now everyone is an Indians
fan.
Welcome back! The Indians have been American League
Central Division Champs four times, and
have been to the World Series twice. It has been a
very exciting time to be a tribe fan and October for
a change has been memorable. Watching a game at Jacobs Field is the best.
The Cavaliers were
an up
and
coming
team, but their future is in doubt. Since the lockout, I have had no interest in the NBA. I did not watch or listen to one game during 1999 - 2000. After many injuries and apathy from the fans, coach Mike Fratello was released and replaced with Randy Wittman(now replaced with John Lucas, yawn!). I think during the six seasons that Fratello was here, he did a remarkable job. I guess the Cavs needed a scapegoat. The Cavs
have one of the best radio voices in Joe Tait.
It is very easy to visualize though
his
words what is actually happening on the court. The NBA and the Cavs have a lot of healing to do.
By
far and
away my favorite place to eat is the OUTBACK!! The
first thing I order is a Bloomin'onion (with extra ranch on
the
side) which starts things
off. Next, the entree is ALWAYS Alice
Springs
Chicken with cheese and bacon fries and extra
ranch.
The Pumpernickel bread is also worth asking for.
Rarely is there room for desert.
Uno's is a close
second
to
the
Outback. A large Uno without mushrooms is the
usual order. No one makes a better deep dish
pizza. Recently, Uno's has left northeast Ohio, and hopefully they will soon return.;-(
The
first
band that I
can admit to following was KISS. I'm
not sure if it was the costumes, makeup or what. Now
many years later I still like to listen to the music.
Their early music is much better than their later
stuff. I have seen them in concert twice and both
times they were great. The last time I saw them was
when the original members reunited and toured with
their makeup on and it was like I was back in 1976
again. It was an incredible show!
If I had
to choose a favorite band it would have to be AC/
DC. Their music from the early '80's was awesome.
I think the album, "BACK IN BLACK", is the best
album
of all time. I must have listened to it a thousand
times and it still sounds fresh. Their recent music
falls way short in making me want to bang my head. I
have also seen them twice, and both were great shows.
At this point, besides KISS & AC/DC, I have had enough of "Classic Rock". If I have to listen to Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd one more time I might be forced to hurl. Now I listen to a lot of "Modern Rock". But unfortunately most of these bands are not very memorable. Most bands now have one or two good songs and you never hear from them again. One band that I like is Green Day. I have have a few of their CD's and I like their energy. LiveConcerts.com is a great site on the net to listen to previously recorded concerts on the internet.
Seinfeld is my
favorite show at this point and am sad that it now
only lives in syndication. The show about nothing
ended with the Seinfeld gang in jail. Will the show
ever return to primetime? I hope so. Jerry Seinfeld I
think was the weakest character of the bunch. The
supporting characters of Kramer, Elaine, and George
really make the show what it is. Kramer was supposed
to have a spinoff show but I heard that he wanted too
much money. That is a shame because it had a lot of
potential. Maybe we might have a reunion movie
someday.
I have only been
watching the X-Files for about two years now. The X-Files is the
brainchild of Chris Carter and is about an FBI agent,
Fox Mulder, who is obsessed by the paranormal. Dana
Scully is his sidekick who is a medical doctor who
tries to give a scientific reason to help explain the
unexplainable. This is a show that takes a while to
get
to enjoy. When I first started watching, I thought
that it wasn't very good. But after I learned the
characters and started to understand the story plot,
I couldn't
stop watching. The X-Files
movie was excellent! It answered some questions, but left a lot unsettled. It might help to watch it a couple of times. You can catch up on missed episodes on
FX.
The
Simpsons is a very funny show. I think
that it is the best of the primetime cartoons. It
originated on the Tracy Ulman show as a short and
then got it's own time slot. A lot of people have had
guest appearances on the show and the late Phil
Hartman had many voice overs. He will be truely
missed.
I love to
travel
as much as I can. Sally and I went to
Hawaii
for our honeymoon. Hawaii was as beautiful as
everyone had said it would be. We had a fair amount
of rain but it really didn't matter because there is
a lot to see and do. Hawaii has everything from
mountains, rainforest and of course beaches. We spent
the first week in Oahu and stayed in Waikiki, which I
was not very fond of. It was very commercial and had
a shopping plaza on virtually every block. We were
out numbered by Japanese 2 to 1 wherever we
went. Pearl
Harbor was very sobering and is a must see while
visiting Oahu. The rest of Oahu was very
beautiful.Maui
was the best! When I
think of Hawaii, I think of Maui. It was a lot more
laid back than Oahu and did not have that tourist
feel
about it. There are lush rainforests and towering
mountains. The only active volcano is on the "Big
Island", which hopefully we will visit next
time.
For a long weekend,
Las Vegas is the perfect choice. Gambling, with
free drinks, all night and lying in the desert sun
during the day is a great way to forget about your
problems. Visit the Hoover Dam and the Calico
Mountains while you are there, if you need a break
from the casinos. Bring lots of $!!
Ireland
is the greenest place that I
have ever been to. All I saw was miles and miles of
green grass and hills. Most of the roads were two
lane highways that were VERY narrow. We rented a car
and stayed at B&B's, which is the way to go. Everyone
was very kind and seemed like they didn't mind that
we were visiting. Ireland is a great place to visit
and hopefully will return someday. And yes, we
visited Blarney Castle and kissed its
famous stone.
Saint Simon's
Island
is part of the "Georgia's Golden
Isles". It is located about 75 miles south of
Savannah. What was striking were the old, enormous,
moss ridden Oak trees. There was a little village
near the ocean where we spent a lot of our time.
Hurricane Bonnie knocked on our door but decided to
make landfall in South Carolina, which resulted in
beautiful weather the week that we visited. The
lighthouse, on the south end of the island, is one of
the few working lighthouses that allows you to visit
the top of the lighthouse.
