Ed and Esther Margery, Ann, Bob, Dick Russ and Judy Swanson Black Children: Brenda, Robin, Russell Jr. and Cheryl Russell James Black was born To Ed and Esther Black Oct.3, 1932. He attended country school north of Reliance and graduated from Reliance High School. Prior to entering the US Army in November of 1952, he was a telegrapher for the Milwaukee Railroad. He was honorably discharged in November of 1954. He married Judith Anne Swanson, born June 23, 1936. They had four children: Brenda Lee, born Sept. 22, 1957, Robin Lynn, born May 17,1959, Russell James Jr., born Feb. 28, 1962, and Cheryl Sue, born Aug.29, 1963. Russell was a banker and died Feb 27,1974, and resided in Benson, MN at the time of his death. Judith moved to Minneapolis and became the regional store manager for . She is retired and now resides in Grove City, MN. Brenda married Errol Lagred and has four children: Aaron, Anthony, Adam and Kelsey. Errol is a poultry consultant and Brenda is an interior designer. They also live in Grove City, MN. Robin married Marty Bryduck, and have one son, Nicholas. Marty is a graphic artist and Robin is a medication specialist. They live in Minneapolis. Jamie (Russell Jr.), was born in 1961 and married Trisha Tesh and had three children: Cory, Melissa and Jared. Jamie also has a son from a previous relationship, Tyler. Jamie and Trisha were divorced and he is currently married to Tammy Rice. They live in Columbia, South Carolina where he is a regional director for Pilot Industries and Tammy is a workout trainer. Cheryl Black was born in 1962---She married Carl Roby----Carl is a home/commercial builder. They have two children, Jessica and Andrew. They live in Des Moines, Iowa. Data submitted by Brenda Black Lagred. Russ Black, 41, funeral rites in Benson, Minn. Funeral services for for Russell James Black, 41, were held Saturday, March 2, 1974, at the Pilgrim Congregational Church at Benson, Minn. Mr. Black died Wednesday, Feb. 27. Burial was in the Benson cemetery. Russell James Black was born Oct. 3, 1932, to Edwin and Esther (Creasey) Black on a farm northwest of Reliance. He later moved into Reliance with his family and attended 12 years of school there, graduating from Reliance High School in 1950. After graduation, he became a teletype operator, working in various small depots on the Milwaukee Railroad. In 1952, he joined the Army, serving two years; one in Germany. Mr. Black married Judy Swanson in November of 1953. After completing his military service, he returned to the Milwaukee, working at Rapid City, Draper and Vivian. While in Vivian he began working part-time at the banmk and became interested in the banking business. From there, he became employed fuul-time in the Kennebec bank. Mr. and Mrs. Black and family then moved to Benson, Minn., and he was a cashier for Swift County Bank there at the time of his death. Surviving relatives, in addition to Mrs. Black, include four children: Brenda, Robin, Jamie and Cheryl; his mother, Esther Morgan of Reliance; two sisters: Mrs. Evert Fletcher, Reliance, and Mrs. Ann Cordry, Farmington, NM, and a brother, Richard, St. Clair Shores, Mich.
