Merrick

Three thousand years ago Merrick fought the evil Orgs along side 5 other ancient warriors. Unlike the other warriors Merrick didn't carry a Crystal Saber, but instead a Cue. He was the sworn protector of Princess Shayla, and in doing so the two wound up falling in love. During a large scale attack Merrick brought the Princess to the temple where she entered a suspended sleep. The city of Animaria was then raised to the sky where it would be safe from the Orgs. Once Animus was destroyed by Master Org, Merrick decided to take a gamble, and went to General Nayzor's temple and to steal the legendary Wolf Mask. Using the Wolf Mask Merrick was able to defeat Master Org, but the Mask turned Merrick into the evil Zen-Aku. Having no other choice, the 5 warriors used their Crystal Sabers to seal Zen-Aku away in a tomb. He was sealed in the tomb for 3000 years before Master Org had Nayzor free Zen-Aku. Once freed Zen-Aku immediately went after the Rangers, and defeated them quickly. As Zen-Aku he remembered only bits and pieces of his past. Mostly things that would only enrage him more, like being sealed away by the ancient warriors. Zen-Aku used 3 of his own Wild Zords against the Rangers. These Dark Wild Zords were the Wolf, the Hammerhead Shark, and the Alligator. The three Zords could come together to form the mighty Predazord. The Rangers were no match for Zen-Aku, who defeated them every time, and even managed to steal 4 of their animal crystals. Animus appeared to Zen-Aku trying to make him remember, but any efforts were lost when Nayzor put a special bug in Zen-Aku's head to make him forget. The Rangers wound up coming to the conclusion that Merrick was human when they saw his hand bleeding during a battle. Princess Shayla then came to the conclusion that Merrick was Zen-Aku. Animus created an eclipse that temporarily cut off Zen-Aku's Power, changing him back into Merrick. The Rangers tried to talk to Merrick but the moon would soon be full again, and Merrick would turn back into Zen-Aku. Princess Shayla determined that the curse lie in the Dark Wildzords. The Rangers were able to use the new Rhino and Armadillo Zords to destroy the Predazord, breaking the curse of the Wolf Mask. The Rangers went to Merrick in hopes that he would join the team, but Merrick was too guilty from the deeds that he had done as Zen-Aku, and ran off on his own. He attempted to take down Master Org himself but to no avail. The Rangers came to his rescue, only to be beaten badly by the Quadra Org. The Wolf, Hammerhead, and Alligator Crystals then finally came to Merrick's aid, forming a Morpher around his write. Merrick used this Morpher to become the Lunar Wolf Power Ranger. He was also able to resurrect the Pedazord, now free from it's evil. Again the Rangers tried to reach out to Merrick, but he went off on his own. He wound up in Willie's Roadhouse, where he helped Willie out from some troublesome bikers. Willie offered Merrick clothes, food, and a place to stay. Merrick accepted, and now helps out Willie at the Roadhouse. He still has feelings for Princess Shayla but feels that he was sworn to be her protector, nothing more. He doesn't want his feelings to get in the way of his mission. He doesn't want to get to close to the other Rangers either. He agrees that they make a good team, but doesn't feel they need to be together all the time. He lets the wind aware him whenever there's trouble.
