Hi there!

My name is Shadow, and this is my Web page. My mommy and daddy let me play on the keyboard so that I could make my own place. I'm a chinchilla. I look like a squirrel with long ears, or like a rabbit with a long tail. I live in Littleton, Colorado, which is a suburb of Denver.

When my mommy and daddy moved to Littleton a couple of years ago, they left me at my grandparents' house because they didn't think I would have fun riding in a car for three whole days! I hate the car because my mommy and daddy put me in a small box and there are lots of strange smells. So, my mommy came to get me and put me on an airplane! That wasn't any fun, because I had to ride in the box again and I couldn't sleep with all the noise and excitement (we chinchillas sleep during the day and then play all night).

Chinchillas like me are rodents, which means that we love to chew! I especially like leather and pencils (but the leads are not very tasty). I like to chew on things that swing, like my mommy's headphones. I also love to chew on books, and mousepads are also really tasty!

Here's a list of things I love to chew on even though I'm not supposed to:

Leather (very chewy)
Paint
Mommy's sandals
Cords, especially the vacuum cleaner (it makes lots of noise, so I don't like it)
The comb Mommy brushes me with
Furniture

Here's my favorite game: I chew on something, and Mommy and Daddy chase me. I like that!

Do you know what my favorite foods are?

Raisins (I adore raisins!!!)
Apples (it's fun to share with Daddy)
Alfalfa hay (fun to crunch)
Dried berries

I don't like the thunder, though. It scares me, and Mommy holds me until I feel better.
