Hi ! I am Narayan, working as a Software Engineer with IBM Global
Services India ltd. This is to help you get to know me better - informally.
I hope to update this frequently, but y'know how it is......
My Work
I am currently working with a team developing a huge online brokerage
system for business
to business e-com. This is one BIG project -- and I am thrilled
to be working on it.
A short while ago, I had travelled to NC, USA to co-author IBM's
Redbook on NCF security -
The
abstract on IBM's site
The
contents on IBM's site
I have also worked for sometime on Java Beans -- developing
TCP components. And
before that, was developing a prototype of a SET Merchant side system.
My area of specialization
Internet Commerce, Internet Security.
My Education
I graduated from SJCE, University of Mysore, one of the oldest Universities
in India, with an Engineering degeree in Electronics and Communication
in mid 1996, and have been with this company since I got recruited from
campus. University of Mysore has been around for over 90 years now,
making it one of the older Universities in India. On an average, 20,000
students graduate from University each year.
My current employer
IBM:
The world's largest infotech company came to India about 5 years back
with an alliance with TATAs, after it decided to leave in the late '60s,
due to adverse Governmental policies. The TATA group of companies is one
of the largest group in Asia, and IBM now has a joint venture with TATAs,
called TATA IBM, for marketing of various products and services of IBM
in India. In addition to this is the company I work for, IBM Global Services,
which is dedicated solely to software development.
