Very good idea, I have heard of some other people wanting to start up something like this too but no-one has got around to it yet. So well done. I have also found a Web site that is very interested in setting up information about Share Clubs - but I haven't got that information to hand. Will send it on to you. Our Club is called "The Joondalup Money Club" in W.A. situated in Perths Northern Suberbs. We are 12 at the moment but willing to take up to 20.

Currently we have 11 female members, covering a variety of ages and professions. We formed a Partnership which has now been meeting for 2 years.
Our portfolio is growing, though at the moment it is a little sad. Currently we are concentrating on blue chip longer term purchases. I think we need to have some speculative buys to make it interesting.
Our meetings are usually held monthly at a central point. To assist with travelling we have been meeting bimonthly in our local areas separating into 2 groups, discussing research, and preparing for the group meeting the following month.

We have had our investment club up and running for 3 years now and up till this point have been doing OK. We have just had one member leave and were already considering expanding our club so thought we might list our club on your site to see if we can come up with some new members. We have 15 people in our club.
We have only just started but have quite a bit in the bank and are investigating
shares at the present.
We live in the district west of Tenterfield and have both male
a female members.
We began 3 years ago and meet at various members homes once a month. The members
are a diverse group with some growing fruit trees, others farming sheep and
cattle and one member running a specialty baby piglet butchery for exclusive
restaurants in Brisbane and Sydney.
Some of us live in Queensland and some in NSW which can be a problem during
daylight saving.

Our group is in Sydney based loosely around the lower end of the northern beaches. We're still very much in the early stages of getting something happening. I've taken your advice and bought a copy of the NAIC book "Starting and Running a Profitable Investment Club" and that's going to take a bit of digesting too. We're still a bit low on numbers of participants but are spreading the word; a few of those who are currently involved have major commitments to the end of the year which means we probably won't be fully up and running until after the summer holidays. Still, it's a good amount of time to get things into place. I think it's a great idea to have a directory of Australian clubs and hopefully we'll have an "entity" to add to your list. My name is Karen Reid-Clapcott and I am the founder of the Hibiscus Wildflowers. Still relatively new, we started with our 5 members in July 05 we went about setting up our club and paying in our first contributions.
