Hurry, Operators are Standing by
"Easy" Ed McCaffery, discarded by Wallace, is available for pickup. All
he did was score three TDs from the player of the week, John Elway. CZ?
Double your pleasure? Time to dump some of that deadwood...

Czupryna Shoots Down "Shorthanded" Jackson
CZ got his first win over Jackson in 5 years: a 67-53 thriller. Jackson raised
eyebrows around the league after trading Minnesota QBs and Jake Reed for
to Talbot for Philadelphia QBs and Webster Slaughter amd the promptly cutting them!
However, there is more to this trade than meets the eye as Talbot will
hand over BRFL leading RB Terry Allen after this week. Calvin
could have used Allens 3 TDS this week. Jackson did pick up Baltimore QBs
and 27 points (cutting Philly's 24). For CZ, it was his highest scoring game
ever. Denver QBs netted him 25 points, Curtis Martin, his usual good game with
12 and kicker Steve Christie tied a BRFL record with 22 points.
Talbot Runs Hot and Cold
After a five point debacle last week, Talbot blew out J/K 65-35 with a lineup
in transition. Terry Allen give a parting gift of 18 points, OJ McDuffie 12,
and his "forgotten" QB, New York Jets, chipped in 20.
Peil, Outlaw disgusted with 29 all tie
What is Brett Perriman doing in a lineup on his bye week? Washington QBs 0,
Miami 20? What's Keyshawn doing back so soon? Same with Bert Emanuel? Lots of
second guessing. Peil sets league record with seventh lifetime tie.
Best Rolls Again, 63-22
The Best/Barry tilt featured the NFL's top rushers in Terrell Davis and Ricky
Watters. Both scored on long runs, but Davis outscored Watters 16-8. Best
also got the better of the QB's with a gimpy Steve Young and banged up Elvis
Grbac combining for 25. Best also took over the league scoring league from
Barry, who has been very quiet after his record 90 point outburst two weeks
ago. This was BEST's third 60 point game in five weeks.
Wallace "Takes it Easy" on Ricker
Perhaps to give last place Ricker a sporting chance, first place Wallace cut
Ed McCaffery who scored 18 and benched Irving Fryar, who scored 25. The moves
were understandable, McCaffery has "a conflict of interest" with Denver
teammate Anthony Miller and Irving Fryar was quiet with Philly's previously
unsettled QB situation. Nevertheless, it could have been a lot worse than the
42-23 pounding
BUD Dies a Slow Death on Monday Night
MOSAKOWSKI caught up to DEITRICH a point at a time Monday night. Down by 3,
he managed two extra points from John Carney and two fumble recoverys from
his Oakland D to get the minimum four points to capture the 22-21 win. It could
have been over sooner... Carney hit an upright on a field goal, and later, Pat
Swilling was running for a TD with a fumble and was dragged down by Leonard
Russell, who is BUD's guy.
Stroupe Considering Extending Vacation
STROUPE is 2-0 so far on his three week vacation, much to the frustration of
his opponents who don't know his lineup until it gets sorted out on Monday.
Gates is a very unhappy 38-37 loser thanks to two SD QB touchdowns on Monday
night. Stroupe succeeded this week despite starting two guys, Marshall
Faulk and Alvin Harper, who did not play. James "Little Man" Stewart was the
"mystery man" in the line up. Stewart is not in Stroupes default lineup but was
selected to replace Edgar Bennett and scored 13. Gates was relying on the
default lineup, and was unaware of Stewart's presence until Monday.
