Occult and mythology has long been a part-time hobby for me. I have been collecting odds and bits during my travels. Sometime back I was having a discussion on gods and their attributes in one of the local BBSs (Cobweb) when on a lark I started stringing together all the trivia I had collected (and was collecting) in a sort of alphabetical database. A kind of dictionary.

Now I was fairly well-versed with Indian folklore. What I lacked was contact with other types. The only access I had was through books, which can only be best described as pre-digested, second hand information. I wanted to actually get in touch with people for whom the information was first hand. So what better way than Internet!? And thus began the HTML-ization of my existing database.
