The Logan Utah Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The second temple completed in Utah. The Logan Temple and the Manti Temple are near twins. Along with the Vernal Temple, they are the only temples with two towers. The Logan temple is unique in that it is the only temple to be completely gutted and rebuilt, only the outer walls are original. President Spencer W. Kimball, who oversaw the rebuilding, later said he regretted having the interior completely demolished because of the pioneer craftsmanship that was destroyed.

The temple was announced on 15 May 1877.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 17 May 1877.
The cornerstone was laid in September 1877.
The temple was dedicated on 17-19 May 1884.
The temple was rebuilt and rededicated on 13-15 March 1979.
There are 11 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the temple.
Before remodeling the temple had 59,130 square feet, after remodeling it has 115,507 square feet.
The twin towers are 170 feet tall.
The Logan Temple serves stakes in northern Utah and southeastern Idaho.
