The Caracas D. F. Venezuela Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The Church in Venezuela has not experienced the dramatic missionary successes found in most Latin American countries. Missionary work in Venezuela began in 1966, and Church growth there has been relativly slow, there were many people who attended the open house with out having ever heard of the Church before. However, the temple has been featured in several local media stories and is proving already to be a valuable missionary tool.

The temple was announced on 30 September 1995.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 10 January 1999.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 20 August 2000.
There are 2 Sealing rooms and 2 Ordinance rooms in the 11,600 square foot temple.
The spire is 75 feet tall.
The Caracas Temple serves stakes in Venezuela.
