The Edmonton Alberta Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

During the open house, the various contractors who had worked on the temple got to tour their new creation and show their families the finished product. One contractor sat in the temple and stared at a door frame. When asked what he was looking at the visitor replied that he had cut around the door and couldn't believe the quality of his own workmanship. The temple includes impressions of Alberta's wild rose and wheat shaft on the front of the building. The exterior is covered in ganite quarried in Quebec.

The temple was announced on 11 August 1998.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 27 February 1999.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 11-12 December 1999.
There are 2 Sealing rooms and 2 Ordinance rooms in the 10,700 square foot temple.
The spire is about 78 feet tall.
The Edmonton Temple serves stakes in northern Alberta.
