The Guatemala City Guatemala Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Harold B. Lee, then a member of the Quorum on the Twelve, when he visited Guatemala City in 1956, felt that it would be a center for Lamanite gatherings and prophesied that a temple would be built there.

The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun in September 1982.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 14-16 December 1984.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 11,610 square foot temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 126 feet tall.
The Guatemala City Temple serves stakes in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, and southern Mexico.

I have not yet found any pictures of the interior.
