The San Diego California Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The San Diego Temple is the most dramatic design of the recent temples. Its fantasy castle feel is strengthened by its two major towers, flanked by four smaller spired turrets, give it ten spires, the most of any temple. The temple also has roof top gardens, intricate stained glass and a highly visible location.

The temple was announced on 7 April 1984.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 27 February 1988.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 25-30 April 1993.
There are 8 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 70,000 square foot temple.
The two major towers are 200 feet tall.
The San Diego Temple serves stakes in parts of southern California and northwestern Mexico.
