The Veracruz Mexico Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints


Mexico has one of the largest LDS populations outside the United States. Now it also has one of the largest temple populations. With the dedication of the Veracruz Temple there are more temples per members of the church than in any other large country, including the United States.

The temple was announced on 14 April 1999.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 29 May 1999.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 9 July 2000.
There are 2 Sealing rooms and 2 Ordinance rooms in the 10,850 square foot temple.
The spire is 75 feet tall.
The Veracruz Temple serves stakes in east central Mexico.
