A linebacker, was a second round draft pick out of Penn State by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1971. He played all twelve of his seasons in Pittsburgh, being named an All-Pro six times (1974-'79), and being named to eight Pro Bowl teams (1973-'80). He was a member of all four Super Bowl winning teams for Pittsburgh during his career. Ham was named to the N.F.L. All-Decade Team for the 1970's and was one of seven linebackers selected to the N.F.L.'s 75th Anniversary Team. Ham was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
