Warfield was a wide receiver drafted out of Ohio State with the eleventh overall pick in the 1964 draft by the Cleveland Browns. Warfield played for the Browns until 1969, winning a championship with the team his rookie season. He played for the Miami Dolphins from 1970 to '74, winning two Super Bowls with Miami. Warfield was a part of an exodus from the Miami Dolphins to the short lived World Football League with team mates Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick. Warfield played the 1975 season with the Memphis Southmen before returning to Cleveland to finish his career with the Browns in 1976 & '77. He was a six time All-Pro (1964, '68, '69, '71-'73) and played in eight Pro Bowls (1964, '68, '69-'74). Warfield finished his career with 427 receptions for 8.565 yards and 85 touchdowns. he led the N.F.L. in touchdown in 1968 with 12 and 1971 with 11. Warfield was named to the N.F.L. All-Decade team for the 1970's and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983.
