My husband is a Breaux from Napoleonvill, La. and my mom's madien name was Sullivan. I was born in Monroe, La. a AirForce brat and moved all over. I lived in D'vill for about 12 yrs and love the people and food down there as you can tell, when you look at me. We don't go home as much since Mama & P pa Breaux both died within the last 5 yrs., but still have lots of family and friends down there. Assumption Parish. Breaux's, Blanchards, Theriot, Girior, etc. Live in TX now taking care of sick mom and miss La. very much. We do not have a lot of th same beleifs but I do love La. and my cajun name. I was born and raised in North Louisiana. I have mixed heritage, as most of us do. My ancesters were from France, England and Ireland -- with just as you said "a smidgen of German". My eldest daughter, my beautiful child, is now in Heaven in the arms o Jesus. She was a delight here on earth and I know was needed on the other side.
