Hakuna Matata! C'mon In... Simba And His Friends Are Waiting For You!

HI! C'mon in... Don't be shy. We're all friends here, honest! I am Christopher Ryan Osborne, the um... well... person who lives here. I am 9 years old, and as you probably already know have two sisters, Anika and Valkyrie. I moved to Florida with Mom and Dad and the girls (yuk) in December of 1997. We live near Disney World and we get to go there alot. As you can probably tell, I love the Lion King. But, I also like watching the races on Sundays with my mom and dad. My favorite driver is Mark Martin... you know, #6... the Valvoline car? Well, ever since I was real little I have wanted to be just like him. And someday, I will be a real racecar driver just like him. Really! If you look a little farther, you will see a picture of him and his car, and a few pictures of my other favorite person... the one... the only... Bugs Bunny! I have loved Bugs since I was real little. I think that it might have something to do with the fact that mom and dad nicknamed me bug. Not really sure why, but they did. I love school, and my favorite things in school are reading and math. Mom says that I am better at it than she is, but i don't believe her for a minute. I have two dogs, Jeb, who is a collie and is real protective of us kids. He won't let my little sister out of the gate unless mommy says it's ok... Boy, does she get mad! Then we have Shiloh who is a black and white Siberian Husky who is taller than my daddy when he stands up. Mommy rescued him or the animal shelter the day before they were going to put him to sleep. I'm SO glad that mommy got him cause he's too sweet and nice to die. He knocks Peanut down alot cause he likes to run and she is so little but she doesn't get mad at him. When he knocks her down he licks her face and tries to help her back up to say he's sorry. He even tells her he loves her when he talks. He doesn't bark like Jeb, but makes these sounds that souns like "I wuv you". He is really neat.
In February of 1999, I was diagnosed with ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I couldn't understand why the teacher and mommy would get mad at me for not finishing my work. I really was trying, but it was just really hard. Finally Mommy got mad at the school because they were failing me, when she knew I was a good student. I just have alot of trouble writing out answers on paper. Its almost like the ideas that I have get stuck inbetween my brain and my hand. It was really frustrating to try my best and then to see a red "F" on my paper. I came home in tears alot, and Mommy was always there with a great big hug... she always makes me feel better about myself.
Mommy took me to the doctor and he sent me to this really nice lady named Kim. Miss Kim is really pretty *blush* and she understands just how I feel. She knows that I try really really hard, and that i'm smart... I just need help. So she talked to the doctor and they gave me some medicine that I take before I leave for school and also again just before lunch. Mommy isn't really crazy about me taking it though... its called Ritalin, and she has heard some really bad stuff about it, but she says that as long as its helping me thats all taht matters. And it is! I answered all the questions on the FCAT test (a standardized exam) and I did really well on it! I was really scared that I was going to do bad, but Mommy was really proud of me. Since i've been taking the Ritalin, i've also jumped two full grade levels in reading and one in Math so now i'm on a 6th grade reading level and a 5th grade math level. Even my teachers were amazed! Its really nice to hear people tell me how proud they are of me instead of telling me taht I need to learn to "stay on task" and "stop playing around". Now they can see what Mommy and I have been trying to say all along... that I AM smart...

Mommy is trying to get me into a special school thats just for ADD and ADHD kids like me. I really hope that I can get in this year... I think it will be lots of fun even if it is a long trip. If they can help me learn how to deal with this ADHD thing, I will be one very happy bug bug.*smile*

Well... I guess I outta let you go so that you can check out the rest of the neat stuff on here... Mommy worked real hard on all the pages for us kids, so please let her know what you think about it all, and send her some e-mail... the addie is at the bottom of the page, or you can go check hers out too and sign her guestbook. Come back and visit Simba and Bugs and I again real soon.... We love to get visitors!
