IN MEMORY OF TOOT & GIZMO |
Our beloved little Toot passed to the Rainbow
Bridge on May 19, 1999. We will never forget her.
Gizmo went to join Toot on November 13, 2003.
He was 14 and will be missed so much.
See his
Memorial Page here.

Toot and Gizmo came to us several years ago from a backyard breeder in Oklahoma. The couple were quite elderly and just couldn't care for
their dogs anymore. They have since passed
away. Both doggies were scraggly, dirty, covered with fleas and had
horrible teeth. They were cleaned up a bit, learned
to love to come inside the house and lay around on
the den floor and their coats improved...they spoiled quick!
Toot especially loved the A/C vent and would hog one all
the time...she was plump and could completely cover it!
She was one of the sweetest-natured doggies I have ever
known. |

Gizmo, a little male who lived to be 14, had lived
all his life with Toot. He was very protective of her.
He slept near her and at first he would not eat unless
she was close by. He gradually got used to letting her
be more independent of him but they always stayed close
to each other. On his headstone, it will read "Toot's
Buddy". He outlived her by 4 years.

The charm was adopted for Gizmo in honor of his 13th birthday.
He was a registered Peke, born June 17, 1989, the son
of Smokey The Bandit and Charo. He was listed with the AKC
and the Continental Kennel Club. He was blonde-grayish
color with a dark mask. He never had much attention in his early years so he
became a "momma's boy"! He had a regal strut...very Lord
of the Manor! Sometimes the younger fellas picked on him so Mom had to watch over him closely! He had no fear of anything... a typical Pekingese!!

Gizmo, Toot and
Muffet, the "first peke" of Pekehaven, would like
to present your MEMORIAL page with their little special
award. It is for your page that is dedicated to the pet
who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and we hope you would
place it on that page only. It will not be given to
general pet sites. Please send me EMAIL if you would
be interested in this LOVING MEMORY award. You MUST state you visited
Pekehaven and not just say, "I want your award" because we offer other
awards at other places.

WHERE TO BURY A DOG
There is one best place to bury a dog. If you bury it in this spot,
it will come to you when you call...come to you over the grim, dim
frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your
side again. And though you call a dozen living dogs to heal,
they shall not growl at it nor resent its coming...for it belongs
there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of
grass bent by its footfall, who hear no whimper, people who may
never really have had a dog. Smile at them, for you shall know
something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth the
knowing. The one best place to bury a dog...is in the HEART
of its master. |
