My name is Kathy and I am 40 years old. Contrary to popular opinion, I believe 40 is the beginning of my life. My only son has just moved into his own apartment and now it is my turn to have some fun! I am married to the most wonderful guy in the world, Jeff, and we have a 17-year-old son, Justin. Jeff and I live in southern Indiana with our two cats, Stick and Puck. Justin lives in central Indiana. We just bought and moved into an old house...a real fixer-upper! You know what we're going to be doing for the next several months (or should I say years?)! Hopefully, this will be our last move...unless, of course, we hit the lottery!
I am a Medical Transcriptionist by profession, and have been for the past 21 years. That, in and of itself, is quite amazing! If you would like to know more about being an MT, visit the AAMT Home Page. It is a challenging, but very interesting line of work. I work in an at-home position for The MRC Group's Indianapolis office.
I had surgery on August 24, and intended to make some major changes to this site, but alas with the house hunting and buying I didn't have time to relax. I suppose I should feel pleased that we went through the house buying process without too much stress.
I have varied interests, usually ranging to the extremes. I love to "play" with my computer. I don't know a lot about it yet, but I'm learning and I love it! I love to spend time with my family and friends, listening to music, watching movies and taking drives with my hubby! I love the beach...I only wish I were closer. My husband and I took our first "alone" vacation in 1997, and went to Panama City Beach. It was great, but kind of strange at the same time without a kid along. I also enjoy the mountains, especially the Smokies and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I like to try new recipes, although my family usually votes against it.
I come from a large (by today's standards) family. I have an older sister, Judy (three kids, 12 grandkids and one GREAT grandchild born January 2, 1998!), an older brother, Roger, (three kids and four grandkids and one on the way!), an older brother, Danny (three kids and four grandkids and one on the way), and a younger sister, Vicki (two kids). Both of my parents were from large families also; my dad had 13 brothers and sisters, and my mom had seven! I enjoy dabbling in geneaology and would love to really get into it if I had the time. Unfortunately, I have to work to have money for my hobbies, but then I don't have the time for them. Anyone know how to break that vicious circle? ;-)
I hope this is enough information to make you familiar with me. I'm sure I will add, delete and rearrange things here, so check back to see what I'm up to! Thanks for visiting!
