Here are some links to the pages of some of my
good friends on the web; many are people I have met on the Gate Conferences where I have been known to hang out under the name "chas" and others are folks that I knew from "real life" before they or I had sites. Some are people I've met on ICQ and some I've met here in GeoCities. All are good places to visit and put up by real people who will be glad to welcome you into their virtual homes- please visit each and tell them I sent you.
LOL- it's actually called Evenstar and the Basenji Hooligans.....another friend, Blueoak (link below) named it bizarredog.com- and the African barkless dogs are fairly bizarre. :-)
John (the Head Hooligan's real name) has a great site with lots of pics. It is narrated by one of the dogs, Bo. The others, Lady & Dew scanned the pics and wrote the tags; So what does John do?
John is another denizen of The Gate and ICQ, too. He is single and retired and would like to have a girlfriend, but whenever an interested female shows up he takes off his clothes and scares them away, LOL. Visit him, especially if you are a therapist.
This is a fellow Gater and a neighbor here in GeoCities Heartland. She gave me an award probably because she's my friend rather than for how much she liked my page, LOL. I'm not too proud to take it. She has a great site with a lot happening on it and her daughter is a geocities neighbor, as well. Visit her site, tell her chas sent you and she'll probably give your site an award, too!
This is a very busy place! Renate has so many interests and so much to say that you cannot make just one visit to her site. She has pages on angels, music, medical info (she is an RN) and oh, so much more. And, because she is originally from Germany, all her pages are available in German, too! You have to visit there and check it all out.
I've known Renate several years, having once worked with her at a California hospital and I still live near by her hometown but rarely see her except on-line. I'm retired and she still works there- so, HAH! She is also a GeoCities neighbor and is interesting and an all-around good gal. Go there and tell her, "Chas is sitting at home playing on his 'puter while you are in the ICU in the middle of the night, so HAH!" LOL
This is the home of Blueoak, known as Huey on the Gate. He is another California dude from the Sacramento Valley. He is fascinated with stagnant water and big ugly fish- probably some childhood trauma. Visit him and see pics of his ponds and read his twisted philosophy, LOL.
Digging DC is the site belonging to Gayle Yiotis ( better known as "cassie" to you Gate dwellers ) who works at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington and occasionally comes out to CA to visit F2F with her friends here.
She is always deep in the basement in a pile of bones or sitting in front of her computer.....I was lucky enough to meet her "live" on one of her trips West (pics available on The Gate ) and enjoy conversing with her in the Gate Conferences. You could register and meet us there, or just visit this fine site.
Squeegee (AKA Loonie on The Gate) is another on-line pal. He is famous for having no hair (by choice, unlike some other Hooligans who shall remain nameless) and for his unseen loincloth. Loonie is a former Marine and the line from his main page says it all..."Once a Marine, always a Marine". He has a lot of stuff on his site, including a chatroom and a bunch of Live-Cam links; Check it out!
This is the site belonging to Tiny Dr. Tim and dedicated to fans of The Firesign Theater. It is also an ICQ List Page (watch for an ICQ list here in future!). I came upon his site while surfing the ICQ lists and being a long-time fan of Nick Danger and FST in general I couldn't resist joining his list. Tim has live get-togethers on Sunday evenings with fellow ICQers and a site that is extremely rich in other content, as well. I especially like his "Orphan Diseases" page.......Gee, you ARE you!
Paz is another Gate-friend. She is now in charge of The Gate Conferences and hosts the PazWordCafe Conference. Just another Silicon Valley Girl. I don't know how to describe her site- it has stories, poems, pics and a bio of Mario Pazzaglia, an Italian Army Commandante in WW II. And a lot more.......NOT boring! Go there and see......
Another off-line friend who is now an on-line companion......Denise Wrey is/was daughter Jennifer's best buddy growing up. She is married to Phil and this is their home page. It is still being constructed, but already is looking good and has a lot of cool links on it- especially the one to that guy, CC Rider!. Phil is an active-duty Marine lucky enough to be posted to a TOTALLY Navy town.
Loonie needs to stop by and give him some moral support- I can't help him 'cause I'm ex-Navy myself, LOL. Good thing I'm tolerant. :-)
Felp is a new friend I've made - he is a teenager who lives in Mexico and chats with me on ICQ. He is new to site-building, but learning fast....I look for his page to be really something in a short time.....it grows almost daily. Check it out!
