According to Kevin Zegers, HOT star of Air Bud: Golden Receiver, the age-old saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" doesn't ring true. You see, over the past few years, Kevin has been so preoccupied making movies, such as this year's Great Expectations (as young Ethan Hawke !) , 1997's original Air Bud, 1993's Life with Mikey as well as his upcoming picture Treasure Island and Nico the Unicorn, that starting a relationship with any girl, in his eyes, would not be FAIR.
"It's one of those 'NO TIME' kind of thing, "
The almost 14 years old whose b-day is September 19. "Because I'm away all the time. It's not really fair for them,."

And if anyone know that life isn't fair, it's Kevin. It was only a few years ago, in fact that he actually had his heart broken by a girl-an even he likes to say is :
"One of those kind of things that you could make a movie out of."
The details of the relationship are still too touchy for the sweetie to endure repeating though he did mention she "MOVED AWAY."
Experiencing the trauma of breaking up because of moving circumstances has since kept Canadian cootie Kevin from ever making any-one else feel that PAIN.

Last Summer Kevin Zegers caught the attention of Boppers everywhere when he starred in the comedy Air Bud. Now all you fans of the 13 - years - old Canadian cootie pie - who has guest - starred on lots of TV movies and series, including FOX drama The X - Files, and who stars in the upcoming feature films Nico the Unicorn and Treasure Island - will be stoked to know that he'll be back on the BIG screen this mouth in the follow - up film Air Bud: Golden Receiver.

Q: How did you get your START as an actor ?

Kevin: I started auditioning for commercials in Canada when I was 6. I don't remember why - I guess I just showed an interest in it because I like to be in front of people. I did about 30 commercials and then I started doing small parts in movies and stuff. I did about six or seven small parts and then I got to bigger parts and lead roles. That's pretty much how in started.

Q: So what's been your FAVORITE movie so far ?

Kevin: This one (Air But: Golden Receiver). It was FUN because you could play around with the other kids and the god. There were a lot of nice, funny people in this one.

Q: How did you fit SCHOOL into your schedule when you're working on a movie set ?

Kevin: Tutoring. I spend three hours a day with a tutor. But when i go home, I just go to my regular school.

Q: When you go back to your regular school, do KIDS treat you any differently because you're a movie star ?

Kevin: They don't think much about it. I've been in the same class with the same kids since, like, I was in kindergarten, so they know me. But there are a few kids who you know are only talking to you or hanging out with you because of what you do. I try avoid that kind of stuff.

Q: When you're are working on a movie set, do you ever feel like you are mussing out on stuff back HOME ?

Kevin: YEAH, sometimes, like playing on the basketball team at school and playing hockey and that kind of stuff. I miss that a lot. I'm the CAPTAIN of a select hockey team and I missed half the games this season.

Q: Do you want to keep ACTING forever ?

Kevin: WELL, sure, if keeps doing as good as it's going now ! But I also want to keep going to school and go to University and maybe study medicine and be a sports doctor or trainer because I really like sports. I'd get to see all the games FREE !!!

Q: OooKEY, tell us, what attracts you to a girls ?????????

Kevin: It's mostly personality. I won't bother with somebody who is stuck - up or prissy or who's worried about her HAIR all the TIME. I like a girl who will go outside in the rain and play soccer in the MUD, and someone who's really, really NICE....

Q: Looking at all your upcoming films, you've been extremely busy ! Do you like going from one project to another ?

Kevin: It gets busy sometimes, but there's usually a little time in between each project. But after I finish, I'm always PRETTY tired.

Q: In any of these roles, are you able to add your input into the script ?

Kevin: Oh, yeah, they always ask for input because the writer only writes the script to use as sort of an outline. The script isn't really what the movie is going to be. and after we do a read - through, they change every single page.

Q: Considering all these movies, you probably don't have much time to just be a kid.

Kevin: Actually, I DO. I'm on a hockey team. I've been playing since I was 4.

Q: What do they do when you're off shooting a movie and not able to PLAY ?

Kevin: They have a replacement cartain when I'm gone. They're really nice about it.

Q: Having done so many interviews, what's one question people ask that makes you uncomfortable ???

Kevin: I think the money thing is the most uncomfortable question to be asked because I'm sure some people act for money, but that's the last thing I think about when I read a script. I don't care if the budget is the size of my fingernail. I don't do movies for money, I just want to be PART of it.

Q: Since you have been here for a while, what do you think of Los Angeles ?

Kevin: I like it. But to live here, I don't think so. Because if you're here too long, I find as a child actor, your head gets bigger that the GRAND CANYON...

Q: Why do you think that is ???

Kevin: It's because the people on the set are so nice to you:
"Can I get you something to eat ? "
"Something to drink ? "
"Is the heat OK in the car ? "
NOT that I don't like that, but when you get home, you don't have all those cool things.
If I'm hungry, my mom will just say,: "GO MAKE IT YOURSELF." " I mean:
"Go make it yourself, Honey."
