    Personal Profile:

David's Family name, Duchovny, means "spiritual" in Russian. David's dad, Ron, was a publicist for the American Jewish Comittee, a play-wright and book author. David's Mum, Margaret, taught in a manhattan school. He is the second of three children, with sister Laurie in New York and brother, Daniel, in L.A. David played bassketball and baseball during high school and college; to keep fit nowadays he jogs and works out. Although David is still single he still has a female in his life, his dog blue. A part-time poet, David worked with executive producer of the x-files, Chris Carter to develop the story of season two's thrilling two-parter, "End Game" and "Colony" and the season two finale "Anasazi". Unlike his character he is a sceptic, but he isn't so sure life on Earth is the only life!

    Professional Profile:

Sice his professional debut David has come a long way. His debut was actually in a beer commercail in 1987. It wasn't until while he was studying for a doctorate in English literature at Yale university, that the acting bug bit. In between his duties as a teaching assistant and working on his Ph.D. dissertation, David took acting lessons at The Actor's Studio in New York. Eventually acting took precedence over academics and he left school. Following the beer ad, he appeared in "Working Girl" (1988). From there his career too off. Among his many credits are "New Year's Day" (1989), "Twin Peaks" (1990), "Denial" (1991), "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" (1991), "Beethoven" (1992), "Chaplin" (1992), and "Kalifornia" (1993). In '93 he caught the eye of X-Files creator Chris Carter, who instanly cast him as Mulder.

    Character Profile:

Soon after completing his training at the FBI academy, which followed a stint at Oxford university to study psychology, Agent Mulder developed a keen interest in the paranormal. He quickly earned the nickname "Spooky." Convinced nowthat his missing sister, Samantha, was abducted by extraterrestrials, Mulder has made the bureau's unexplained, unsolved x-files his own. Yet uncovering the truth often proves to be a tricky business, within and without the FBI. However aided by his loyal partner, Dana Scully, Mulder manages to stay one step ahead in playing the mysterious and often dangerous game.
