TeleVideo, Inc. has announced that it has licensed Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) for inclusion in its TeleCLIENT line of thin client Windows CE-based terminals. Citrix ICA enables the TeleCLIENT to interface with Citrix MetaFrame and WinFrame server-based computing software. The company has also announced that it has joined Citrix's Business Alliance (CBA) program to globally promote its TeleCLIENT line in conjunction with Citrix MetaFrame™ server-based computing software.

oopdreams software has just released Bubblet, a puzzle game for Windows CE Palm-size PCs. A free trial version can be downloaded from the oopdreams website.

Speak & Byte Pty Ltd. has announced the availability of
Meeting Minutes Manager 1.5 for all Windows CE Palm-size PC, Handheld PC and Handheld PC Pro devices. Meeting Minutes Manager is designed to reduce the time consumed when creating meeting minutes by minimizing the need for paper notes. It is also available for Windows 95/98/NT and introduces integration with the meeting & task assignment functions available in Microsoft Outlook.

The application is available from the Speak and Byte's web site (http://www.speakandbyte.com.au) as a 30-day evaluation copy. The recommended Internet download price is AUD$60 (approximately US$39). Version 1.5 is a free upgrade for registered users.

Diligent Software has released QuestBase2000, a study guide for test takers or students that is also a resource for technical recruiters that wish to screen potential employees before sending their resumes out to a company or before hiring them.

Designed to run on Windows CE Palm-size PCs, QuestBase2000 is a flash card system that gives you test questions and then lets you review the answer immediately. Modules range from A+ certification to Visual Basic, and can be downloaded from the Diligent Software website.

Synchrologic, Inc. announced that its iMobile Suite will support the CE operating system by the end of 1999. iMobile Suite is a comprehensive set of enterprise mobile computing technologies, enabling customers to provide mobile users of CE the ability to access and synchronize corporate data, documents, and applications.

CASIO Soft, Inc. has signed an
agreement with Ingram Micro, of Santa Ana, CA, under which Ingram will distribute CASIOSoft's Windows CE Mobile Productivity software to leading US retail chains and resellers.

Cambridge Computer Corp. has released vxFTP 0.9.5, a high-performance file transfer protocol (FTP) client for Windows CE-based HPC Pro devices. It can be downloaded for free from the company's website.

mov Software has released
IrcCE Palm, a fully functional IRC client for Windows CE Handheld and Palm Size PCs. The application can be downloaded from the mov Software website for $14.95.

PalmSizeMedia, a new website site offering a variety of resources for multimedia users of Palm-size devices such as the Casio E-100/105, has just opened. It features articles, 'skins' for MP3 and Windows Media audio players, and downloadable movies in the Casio Movie File format.

CNet reports that Microsoft has acquired STNC, a UK-based company which specializes in developing software for mobile phones and handheld computers. According to CNet, this software "will be integrated into Microsoft's wireless phone offerings that are based on the Windows CE operating system".

Sticky Software has posted a new update to Pocket Universe, its popular Planetarium program, which provides a comprehensive portable guide to the night sky. This new version of Pocket Universe supports a full range of Handheld and Palm-size PCs, including the latest color models, and can be purchased via the Sticky Software home page.

SnoopSoft has announced the final release of ColorMe 1.0, an application that allows you to alter the default color scheme used by Windows CE Palm-size PCs. PCs. The program can be downloaded for free from the SnoopSoft website.

Utopiasoft has unveiled version 1.6 of its HUM MP3 player for Windows CE. Version 1.6 includes a number of major enhancements that give the user more control over MP3 playback, including the ability to choose the sampling rate at either 44KHz, 22KHz or 11KHz. Users can also download a wide choice of different color program skins created by Utopiasoft and developers from around the globe from the company's website.

TeleVideo, Inc. has announced that it is licensing of the Microsoft Windows CE operating system for its TeleCLIENT(TM) TC7000, TC7150 and TC7170 family of thin client Windows-based terminals. These devices provide the server-side access to popular Windows-based business applications such as the Microsoft Office suite and Java, as well as the Internet. Windows CE, along with the RDP or ICA® protocols, enable the TeleCLIENT family to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Windows NT® Server 4.0 Terminal Server Edition or Citrix's WinFrame.

Hitachi has announced the
HPW-600ET Handheld PC, which it claims to be the world's first Windows CE tablet device. The HPW-600ET is also the first HPC Pro to come with an anti-microbial coat, making it ideal for use in the healthcare industry. The HPW-600ET is scheduled to ship in Q3 1999.

Snoopsoft has announced that you can download a free public beta version of its ColorMe utility, which allows you to reconfigure the default Windows CE color scheme on a color Palm-size PC.

GameBag One for Windows CE Palm-size and Handheld PCs, a package that features eight great games including King's Corners, Dots, Shuffle, and more. GameBag One has full support for both color and grayscale Palm-size PCs and is also available for the Handheld PC and Handheld PC Pro platforms. It can be downloaded from the Ilium Soft website for $24.95.

Ericom Software, a leading developer of enterprise connectivity software solutions, and Cedar Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of Windows-Based Terminals (WBT), have announced the signing of a
joint licensing agreement. Under the agreement, Ericom's PowerTerm CE for the Windows CE environment will be pre-installed into Cedar System's high quality thin-client NutShell™ WBT product.

In other news, CNet reports that HP will be discontinuing production of its DOS-based 200LX PDA and focusing totally on Windows CE for Handheld and Palm-size PCs, while Toshiba is phasing out its Libretto mini-notebook.

announced that it is dropping the price of the Jornada 420 from $519 to $449. At the same time, HP is also offering a special summer bundle valued at $160 to people who purchase the device. This includes a 16MB SanDisk CompactFlash memory card bundled with HP speech-recognition software, Sierra Imaging's Image Expert CE P/PC, and 64K color driver.

Neoware Systems, Inc has announced that its NeoStation Series of Windows-based terminals incorporating the Windows CE operating system have received Microsoft's logo certification for the latest version of Windows CE and the Microsoft Windows-based Terminal software kit. Neoware's NeoStation Series of Windows-based terminals allow access to applications running on Microsoft Windows NT Server Terminal Server Edition and Citrix MetaFrame, as well as to mainframes, minicomputers and the Internet.

Infinite Ventures has released a Windows CE version of Shadowgate Classic, an innovative graphic adventure game which involves solving devious traps and puzzles set by the evil Warlock Lord. The program runs on Handheld PCs only, and can be purchased from the Shadowgate website at the price of US$29.95.
