This is the official Homepage of Scouting Horn, the Robert Kennedy Group.
if you just click here, you will see a satelite phot of our surroundings. The picture has been enhanced
and names have been added, to give a better view. The original photo was downloaded via the
Dutch Home Page
This page is an english copy of the official dutch page. The Dutch site contains also information from our
group-paper, called the "Sjakel". It contains info, small stories and other little things wich are useful for
our members. Because it is in Dutch, it is probably not useful to place them on this site. If you want to read them,
and see our pages in the original language, step over to our Dutch HomePage.
A dutch scouting group uses a name instead of a number. Even when there are more scouting groups
in the same city or town. The town Horn has only one scouting group, but the nearby city Roermond
has more than one scouting group. "Stichting Scouting Horn" (foundation Scouting Horn) was founded
in 1968.
The name wich was choosen as group name was Robert Kennedy.
The brrother of John F. Kennedy,

Robert Kennedy. Some of his famous words were
"Some men see things as they are, and ask, Why?
I dream of things that never were and ask, Why not?"
The dutch translation is the following:
"Sommige mensen zien dingen zoals ze zijn, en vragen, Waarom?
Ik droom van dingen die er nog nooit waren, en vraag mezelf, Waarom niet?
Our scouting group is situated in Horn, a little town in the dutch province Limburg. It is near the city Roermond.
There is a lot of green in the vicinity, forrests and a couple of artificial lakes.
Our scouts show up during the evenings of the week.
For our group activities we use our very own building. It is made of concrete bricks, wich might not be the
biggest eye catcher, but it serves it's purpose. Our old building was build of wood. This gave us cold winters,
a lot of rain inside the building, and, of course very hot summers inside. The new building is easy to clean,
water and windproof, warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. It is a good building for our scouting group.
We have a large field of grass, wich we use for all sort of games, and camping. There is also a campfire place.
