The Fairfax County Park Authority offers camping a short distance off the trail at its midpoint, Mile 17.5, in Lake Fairfax Park. The cost is $12 per night. Reservations are usually required: phone 703-471-5415. Campsites are available from Mar. 1st to Dec. 1st. The campsites are in Lake Fairfax County Park. A short trail, passable by mountain bike, connects the campsites to the W&OD Trail. It joins the main trail at the Michael Farraday crossing.

On the western end of the trail, your best bet may be a bed-and-breakfast, as described by links found in the biking pages.
